Peter Loh’s furniture design is innovative while keeping in mind the natural elements that inspired it. The Leaves of Grass coat rack recalls tall grasses blowing in gentle winds or swaying fields of wheat. Loh and his team steambend staves of wood and then fit them by hand into the rack. No two racks are alike, and a variety of sizes and woods are available. This rack is so different that it will never be an eye sore, like some conventional coat racks can be. The shadows it casts on the walls are beautiful and delicate, and make this coat rack seem more like a piece of sculptural art than a household utility. Peter Loh’s site is full of other great furniture pieces that are in touch with nature.
