The Steampunk HomeMaybe I am not as refined as those interior designer “Ladies” that I offer up Architectural Artistry skills to (at their will). Or maybe my William Gibson cyberpunk retro-moderism roots slip out from time to time.. But the short of it is I Love Steampunk. Thats right, maybe not a design style that is in concert with my Jeffersonian classical roots but all that shiny brass, manufacturing styles of the industrial revolution,  has great aesthetic appeal to me.

So behold, now we have the Steampunk Home. The Steampunk Home was created by an interior designer (gone mad) named Sara Carlstead Brumfield. She says “I think that is the appeal of steampunk. The strong contrast between Victorian refinement and industrial grit, old technology vs new etc. makes it very interesting. It’s also a green concept as we need to stop buying so much new and find ways to salvage and reuse.”

Adaptive Re-use or Adaptive Pre-use?

Sara did a great job, please go visit the house at thesteampunkhome.blogspot.com.

I found this via the Brass Goggles Blog.
